Location

The Hotel Selene is in Pomezia, near Roma Eur, between Castelli Romani and the Anzio and Nettuno beaches.

Pomezia is the ancient Roman Lavinum, told in legend as being founded by Aeneas after escaping Troy. The area is rich in archeological areas whose findings are exhibited at the Lavinum Archeological Museum in Pomezia. Another important archeological site Roman history buffs can't miss on their vacation at the Hotel Selene is the one in Ostia Antica. 27 kilometers from Pomezia and the hotel, covering over fifty hectares, Ostia Antica preserves ruins from the second century BC to the third century AD. Worth special mention are the 90 AD Fire Department and 196 AD Theater that could seat up to 4,000 spectators.

Modern history fans will love the German War Cemetery in Pomezia and the British War Cemetery and American War Cemetery in Anzio and Nettuno respectively, just a few kilometers from the Hotel Selene, where WWII victims from the January 22, 1944 Anzio landing are buried. The Italian Military Airport in Pratica di Mare is also seat to the "Centro Sperimentale di Volo" (Experimental flight center), just six kilometers from the Hotel Selene. Also of note is the Manzù Museum in Ardea, just 5 km from the hotel.

When staying at the Hotel Selene in Pomezia you should also see the Landriana Gardens in Tor San Lorenzo di Ardea, 16 kilometers from the hotel. Enchanting, divided in so-called "rooms" with plants from all over the world, it is the Marchioness Lavinia Taverna's expression of love for gardening who, with help from Russell Page, the great British garden designer, created one of the largest modern Italian gardens.

To get to the Hotel Selene from the Pomezia – Santa Palomba train station, book the hotel's free shuttle bus!

By plane.
From the Fiumicino airport, take the Leonardo Express train to Roma Termini and from the Ciampino airport, take the shuttle bus to the Roma Termini airport. From here, take the train for Nettuno and get off at the second stop, Pomezia – Santa Palomba.

By train.
From any departure point, arrive at the Roma Termini train station. From here, take the train for Nettuno and get off at the second stop, Pomezia - Santa Palomba.

By car.
From the highways and airports, take the GRA (Grande Raccordo Anulare) to exit 26 SS148 Pontina / Pomezia / Latina. Drive straight down SS 148 Pontina for about 18 kilometers to Pomezia. The Hotel Selene awaits you at kilometer 30.
